JP Dutta’s directorial Border is considered one of the cult classic films. The film has completed 27 years and on this special occasion, Sunny Deol shared a video clip from the film. Well, recently only Sunny even announced the sequel Border 2. Released in 1997, Border is a critically acclaimed war drama. Sunny Deol’s powerful performance as Major Kuldeep Singh remains etched in the hearts of audiences.
Taking to his Instagram stories, Sunny shared a video in which we can see him giving a speech to soldiers. He did not mention anything in the caption. On Thursday, Sunny Deol shared a video in which we can hear his voice saying ‘27 saal pehle ek fauji ne vada kiya tha ki vo vapas aayega. Ussi vaade ko poora karne, hindustan ki mitti ko apna salaam kehne, aa raha hai.” The caption read, “Ek fauji apne 27 saal purane waade ko pura karne, aa raha hai phirse. India’s biggest war film, #Border2.” As soon as the video was shared, fans started commenting. Many fans wrote, ‘Super excited.” Many even called it blockbuster.

Recently, report came in that preparations for Border 2 are almost done and makers are now planning to begin shooting. “The team behind Border 2 has been working tirelessly to prepare everything and it’s been a long time in the making as they wanted to do justice to the magnitude of the first film. Now, as the preparations are almost done, the team will begin shooting, as it stands now, the team will begin shooting in October,” a source cited by Pinkvilla claimed.
Another report by Pinkvilla claimed that the makers are planning to release Border 2 on Republic Day 2026. “Border 2 is targeting to hit the big screen on Friday, January 23, 2026 – leading to the Republic Day holiday on Monday, January 26, 2026. Being a film celebrating the bravery of Indian Armed Forces, the makers feel that there is no better date than Republic Day for the arrival of this Sunny Deol and Ayushmann Khurrana film,” an insider revealed.
Sunny Deol also has Lahore 1947 with Preity Zinta in his kitty. Currently the shooting is going on.
