Los Angeles: Author Stephenie Meyer is all set to executive produce a supernatural spy series The Rook. Channel Starz has ordered the drama, based on the book of the same name penned by Daniel O'Malley, reported Variety.
The Night Manager's producer Stephen Garrett will also exec produce the show, alongside Meyer, under his Character 7 banner. "We are thrilled to add the talents of Stephen Garrett and Stephenie Meyer to our creative family and forge our partnership with the Lionsgate Television Group and Liberty Global.
"The Rook is instantly addictive from the very first scene and introduces what we believe will be one of the most fascinating and thrilling female protagonists on television," channel head Chris Albrecht said.
Playwrights and screenwriters Sam Holcroft and Al Muriel have adapted the 2012 novel for TV. Lionsgate and Liberty Global are partnering to produce the series.
