Popular actor Darshan was recently arrested in connection with the Renuka Swamy murder case. The actor along with 17 other people was arrested on June 11. The court ordered 9 days of judicial custody which ends today, June 20. Since the actor’s arrest, several stars from the film industry reacted to the development. Bigg Boss Kannada 10 fame singer Eshani Shekr posted a message along with some pictures with Drashan on her Instagram handle.
In the post, Eshani mentioned that everyone should abide by the law and if the actor has done anything wrong he should be punished accordingly. She wrote, “This is truly shocking news! It is very hard to believe that Darshan Sir, whom I saw as a brother, is involved in such an act. Although his actions seemed right as he tried to save the dignity of a woman, taking the law into one’s own hands is not at all acceptable under the Constitution of India. If Darshan Sir has done wrong, he must face the punishment, but spreading baseless rumours and tarnishing his image until then is not right,” when translated to English.
33-year-old Renuka Swamy, who was reportedly an autorickshaw driver, was allegedly kidnapped from the Chitradurga district of Karnataka on June 8. He reportedly sent some derogatory messages to actress Pavithra Gowda. According to the statement by the Police department, Renuka Swamy blamed the actress for souring Darshan’s relationship with his wife. This allegedly angered the actor, who then reportedly hired some members of one of his fan clubs to kidnap the man. The gang allegedly kidnapped and murdered him as per the instructions of Darshan. His dead body was later found on June 9 near a flyover in Bengaluru.
In another development, the Kannada Bigg Boss winner Pratham recently filed a comment after receiving death threats from Darshan’s fans. He reportedly made certain comments that angered some fans of Darshan. Pratham also urged people to help Renuka Swamy’s family financially.
