Post the success of Stree 2, Shraddha Kapoor became the most followed Indian actor on Instagram. In a recent interaction, she opened up about her social media game and said that she handles her account on her own. She credited this feat to her fans and their willingness to interact with her on the platform.
Speaking to SCREEN, Shraddha said, “I never imagined that this would become a big thing, of having an X number of followers, it just happened. I feel like people want to see who you are, so it is best to just be yourself. Social media is also a place where people feel they have to change who they are to garner eyeballs but that can also affect your mental health. I do try to be as authentic as possible.”
“There is so much creativity in some people’s comments that I feel like replying. I handle my social media myself and the entire credit goes to those who show up and do masti with me. It is very cheesy. It has been a Fabulous medium for me to connect with my fans. What has happened over the years is that we have formed this bond–between me and my Insta family–where we call each other Shraddha Gems or Babudis and this has been growing,” she added.
Shraddha mentioned, “That is very precious, even if we can’t meet in person. If you ask me for a drawback, the way that I interact with everybody and choose to have my bond with my Insa family, it has only been honestly very positive.”
Last year, in an interaction with The Indian Express, Shraddha Kapoor credited her social media popularity to “the love she receives from her fans and followers”. She said, “I keep it as far away from me as possible. I don’t even like to check my WhatsApp. I am active on social media because of the love I receive there.”
Meanwhile, Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2 continues to win hearts on OTT for its impeccable storyline, terrific direction and standout cast including Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee and Pankaj Tripathi.
