Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 exceeded all predictions, offering a cinematic experience like no other in the industry. The film has etched its name in Bollywood history by surpassing the Rs 600 crore figure in just six weeks. With this feat, Stree 2 dethroned Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and secured the title of highest-grossing Hindi film at the box office. Directed by Amar Kaushik, this horror-comedy solidified its status as an all-time blockbuster. The film is still running in theaters, and it has scored a half-century now.
As of day 50, the film earned around 0.50 crore in theatres. The film’s total worldwide collection in India stands at Rs 840.10 crore. Maddock Films, the production banner behind the film, took to Instagram to share about the remarkable success of the franchise and wrote, “A half-century of spooks and laughs! This Stree is not leaving anytime soon! Stree 2 sets the record for the highest number of cinemas on its 50th day! Thank you for all the love and support!”
A few days back, Shraddha Kapoor spoke about the film’s success to Femina. She said, “For me, success is not defined by conventional measures. At this moment, as I speak with you, it’s about savouring a delicious meal, cherishing moments with my family, and nurturing meaningful relationships. To me, true success means having loved ones close, enjoying restful sleep, thriving in my work, balancing life, and being mentally at peace.”
The actress even credited her father and aunt for motivating her and teaching her not to take things for granted.
The plot of the film begins with the events of its ancestor, showing the town of Chanderi frightened by a new entity called Sarkata. Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Stree 2 takes the horror-comedy genre to new heights with its gripping storyline, laugh-out-loud moments and heart-pounding scares.
In addition to the dynamic duo, the film boasts a stellar cast, including Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana, who reprise their roles from the first film.
