Shantanu Maheshwari is gearing up for his upcoming film Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha. He will share the screen space with Saiee Manjrekar. Both the two will portray the younger versions of Ajay Devgn and Tabu. Shantanu, who is busy with the film’s promotions, recently opened up in an interview about what draws him to love stories.
Shantanu Maheshwari told news agency IANS, “For me, a good love story should ignite feelings of, ‘I have experienced this emotion personally, hence I relate to it.’ Secondly, the feeling of hope, and that I want to experience this emotion. These two criteria are the ones that connect with me the most when I am watching a love-story-based film.”
Shantanu Maheshwari added that there has been a lack of genuine love stories recently. He expressed happiness that they are finally releasing one with their film.
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha is Shantanu Maheshwari’s second film. The actor made his debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi alongside Alia Bhatt. His role in the film was appreciated by audiences and critics alike.
Directed by Neeraj Pandey, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha is a romantic action movie that showcases a love story unfolding between two characters Krishna and Vasudha from 2002 to 2023. It also features Jimmy Shergill, Ajay Devgn, and Tabu. The film will be released in theatres on July 5.
Shantanu Maheshwari started his acting journey with Dil Dosti Dance, where he played the role of Swayam Shekhawat. Later, he appeared in several shows including Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, Yeh Hai Aashiqui, Bindass Naach, and more. He has also participated in the stunt-based reality show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 8 in 2017 and secured the first position. The actor-dancer was also a part of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9 and Nach Baliye 9.
Apart from Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, Shantanu Maheshwari will also be seen in Rahhat Shah Kazmi’s Love in Vietnam alongside Avneet Kaur and Kha Ngan. His other projects include Harish Raut’s Cross Fire and Pratim D. Gupta’s Chaalchitro.
