The Tamil romantic movie, Kalavani, was released in 2010. It was directed by the then newcomer A Sarkunam. The movie starred Vimal, Oviya, Saranya Ponvannnan, Ganja Karuppu and Illavarasu. While the movie was made on a low budget, it emerged to be a sleeper hit and was later remade in Kannada as Kirataka. As per reports, while she was acting on both television and silver screens, she was also balancing her education by excelling in her studies in college. Manisha Priyadharshini was reportedly studying LLB. Her mother too hoped that one day her daughter would become an IAS officer.

She paired it with a contrasting yellow coloured blouse with pink designs. With the traditional look, she sported braided hair adorned with flowers.
