Pandya Store fame actor Mohit Parmar took to her Instagram stories on Friday and shared a shocking casting couch experience his actress friend, Prernaa Thhakurr faced recently. Parmar shared a series of disturbing messages that a casting coordinator allegedly sent to his actress friend. In the messages, a person named Prem from Skyline Spree Production is seen asking Prernaa to ‘compromise’ if she wants to get finalised for a role.
Sharing the screenshots of the WhatsApp chats, Mohit Parmar asked everyone to be cautious. “Beware of this a*****e, this so-called casting coordinator, he’s been abusing and harassing female artists and asking them to sleep with him,” he wrote and then added, “If he contacts you for casting or you find him in any audition group, block him, report him or file a complaint against him, he goes by the name Prem Malhotra.”
Mohit Parmar rose to fame after he featured in the popular show Pandya Store. It also starred Kinshuk Mahajan, Shiny Doshi, Kanwar Dhillon, Alice Kaushik, Krutika Desai and Akshay Kharodia among others in key roles. However, the show went off-air earlier this year.
Unfortunately, the casting couch is a reality and several actors have opened up about it. In March this year, Ankita Lokhande was also speaking to a media portal when she recalled facing a shocking casting couch experience at the age of 19. The Pavitra Rishta actress claimed she had auditioned for a South movie following which she was asked to sleep with the producer.
“Maine South film ke liye audition diya that. Mujhe call aaya ki aap sign karne aa jao. Mai bahot khush thi, toh maine apni maa ko bola main sign kar ke aati hu. Mujhe bhi doubt tha ki itni aasani se kaise hua (I auditioned for a South Indian film. I got a call and they asked me to come and sign the project. I was very happy, and I told my mom that I was going to sign this project. However, I wondered how did I get selected for the project so easily)?” Ankita told Hautterfly.
