It’s been over a decade since Michael Jackson passed away, shocking thousands of his fans worldwide. He was only 50 at the time of his demise, which was caused by a lethal combination of prescription drugs. Despite the police’s statement confirming the cause of his death, there are still a lot of conspiracy theories surrounding the same. While some believe that he was murdered, other believers say that the singer faked his own death.
At a time when fans observed his 66th birth anniversary, a new piece of information caught everyone’s attention. One of the bodyguards has shared his own perspective, suggesting the actual reason behind Michael Jackson’s death.
Ex-Bodyguard On Michael Jackson’s Death
Bill Whitfield, who worked as Jackson’s final bodyguard before his passing in 2009, recently opened up about the King of Pop’s life and his struggles. “Prior to the whole This Is It tour coming into play, a lot had changed. There were more people in his life, and it became hectic,” he said to The Sun.
Notably, Jackson had announced his most-awaited comeback music tour, the This is It residency, which was set to run 50 shows in London between 2009 and 2010. However, a few months after the announcement, he was found dead in his bedroom. Whitfield also noted the changes that came into his life—something that made things more chaotic and brought both mental and physical strain. “I could see he was a little more frail than normal, he was doing a lot of rehearsal. I could tell it was weighing on him,” he added.
While Jackson’s death was ruled a homicide, Whitfield also shared his doubts about it, suggesting many other things contributed to his death. “Do I think someone made a mistake? Yes — I’ve tried to work on the thoughts that could have been intentional — But the thought that [he died] at the hands of someone intentionally, doesn’t weigh with me. He was definitely stressed out. And stress kills,” he explained.
Michael Jackson was found in an unresponsive state in his house and later pronounced dead on June 25, 2009. According to the official statements, he died of acute propofol intoxication, which was administered by his personal physician, Dr Conrad Murray. Murray was also convicted of involuntary manslaughter.
