Early Life and Family

Madhuri Dixit was born on May 15, 1967, in Mumbai. She pursued Microbiology from Mumbai University, all while nurturing her passion for Kathak, a classical dance form, which she has been trained in since childhood. Among her siblings are two elder sisters and an elder brother.

Madhuri tied the knot with Dr Sriram Madhav Nene, a cardiovascular surgeon based in the USA, on October 17, 1999. Following her marriage, she relocated to Denver, Colorado, USA with her husband. The couple is blessed with two sons – Arin born in 2003 and Rayaan born in March 2005. In 2011, after a hiatus, Madhuri returned to India to make a comeback in Hindi films.

Bollywood Career

Madhuri Dixit’s acting career began in 1984 with Abodh, but it was her performance in 1988 film Tezaab that catapulted her to fame, notably with the song Ek Do Teen. Her success continued with hits like Ram Lakhan (1989) and Dil (1990), earning her critical acclaim and awards.

In the 1990s, she delivered hits like Saajan (1991) and Beta (1992), solidifying her position as the leading actress. She further showed off her talent in various movies like Khalnayak (1993), Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994) and Dil Toh Pagal Hai (1997).

Despite some setbacks in the late 90s, she bounced back with successes like Devdas (2002) and Aaja Nachle (2007).
