The American drama series Pachinko, which debuted in March 2022, quickly won hearts with its storyline and outstanding performances. The first season, which wrapped up in April 2022, follows the journey of a Korean immigrant family across four generations, showing their struggles and dreams as they leave their homeland in search of a better life. Now, after a little over two years, fans are eagerly waiting for the premiere of the show’s long-awaited second season. Based on Min Jin Lee’s acclaimed novel, Pachinko is a sweeping story that spans multiple generations, exploring themes of war, peace, love and loss across Korea, Japan and the United States.
In the upcoming season, Lee Min-ho will reprise his role as Hansu. Hansu has been a pivotal character who turns Sunja’s (Kim Min-ha) world upside down. The actor’s portrayal ranges from a naive young man struggling in Japan to a shrewd businessman who is capable of holding audiences spellbound with his versatility.
In the first season, Lee Min-ho explored Hansu’s intricate personality and his complicated relationship with Sunja.
Now, Season 2 will further explore Hansu’s emotional journey as he strives to reunite with Sunja in 1945 Osaka, reports Soompi. As Hansu’s connection with Sunja and their son Noa (Park Jae-Joon) deepens, viewers are eager to witness his character’s evolution. Additionally, this season will also spotlight Jin Ha’s character, who has a very difficult time adapting to life in Japan.
Apple TV has also given us a sneak peek of the upcoming season through their recently released trailer. In the trailer, we get a glimpse of Kim Sunja (Kim Min-ha) enjoying her life in 1945, just before the US Army’s intervention in Japan.
