Kareena Kapoor Khan has emerged as the highest tax-paying female celebrity in India, according to the Fortune India 2024 report. Kareena has surpassed her colleagues due to her films and several endorsements. She has surpassed actresses like Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and Kangana Ranaut among others.
While Kareena topped the list, her Good Newwz co-star Kiara Advani followed behind. As per the report, Kareena paid Rs 20 crore in taxes while Kiara paid Rs 12 crore. Katrina Kaif closely followed at Rs 11 crore. Kareena, Kiara and Katrina were the only actresses to be featured on the list.
As per the report, Shah Rukh Khan has emerged as the highest taxpayer in Bollywood. The report stated that while Shah Rukh paid taxes worth Rs 92 Cr, Tamil actor Vijay took the second spot. The actor, who is forraying into his political career, paid taxes worth Rs 80 Cr, making him the only Tamil star on the list. The top five Indian celebrities include Salman, who paid taxes worth Rs 75 Cr, Amitabh Bachchan, who paid Rs 71 Cr, and Virat Kohli, who paid Rs 66 Cr in taxes.
Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor Khan is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming movie, The Buckingham Murders. The actress recently released the trailer of her film at an event in Mumbai and also opened up about turning a producer for the Hansal Mehta directorial. Kareena thanked Ektaa Kapoor for believing in her and added that she is confident about the success of The Buckingham Murders.
Kareena further talked about being an actor for over 25 years and added, “I have grown up wanting to be on the big screen, wanting to act all my life. Acting is in my blood. I don’t know anything else. I love being in front of the camera. It is my passion and I want to keep doing it forever.”
The Buckingham Murders marks yet another collaboration between Ektaa R Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan after blockbusters like Veere Di Wedding and Crew. The film garnered acclaim from the crowd at its global premiere at the BFI London Film Festival 2023. It was also screened at the 2023 Mumbai Film Festival at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in October.
