Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Sharma have started off with the promotional tour of their upcoming movie, Roohi. The stars were spotted by the paparazzi in New Delhi where they made a special appearance at a cinema hall promoting the horror-comedy.
For the occasion Janhvi, wore one of the creations by Bollywood’s favourite designer Manish Malhotra. The 23-year-old actress wore a sheer white saree with white sequined golden sleeveless blouse. The saree accentuated Janhvi’s curves as she draped the pallu in a sensuous style. With her long styled hair and a pair of traditional earrings, Jahnvi was all set to bring summer heat to the national capital.

Janhvi plays the role of a woman possessed by an evil spirit in the upcoming movie that also stars Rajkummar Rao besides Varun. Roohi shows Janhvi in a never-seen-before role in the upcoming movie which is unlike her usual glamorous avatar. The trailer of the movie came out on February 16, 2021 and has garnered over 32 million views till now.
The trailer shows how Janhvi’s curse can only be lifted if she marries someone, otherwise the evil spirit might kill her. The movie focuses on this dilemma of the two male leads, Varun and Rajkummar, who contemplate on marrying a deadly witch played by Janhvi. The poster of the movie shows both Varun and Rajkummar dressed in a groom’s outfit while Janhvi is wearing a red bridal costume.
The actors have also released two promotional songs for the movie ahead of its release: Panghat and Nadiyon Paar. Panghat is sung by Asees Kaur and Divya Kumar and is composed by Sachin – Jigar, while Nadiyon Paar is the remix of Shamur’s popular 2008 track Let The Music Play.

Roohi will hit the theatres on March 11, 2021 and comes from the makers of 2018 hit horror comedy, Stree. The 2018 movie also starred Rajkummar in the lead role opposite Shraddha Kapoor, who played the mysterious witch who hunted men at night. Roohi’s tagline,“Iss baar mard ko jyada dard hoga!” happens to be a tribute to Stree whose tagline was “Mard Ko Dard Hoga.”
