Director Amal Neerad has released the first look poster of his next film Bougainvillea. The action thriller film features Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil, Jyothirmayi, Sharaf U Dheen, Sridnaa, and Veena Nandakumar in the lead roles. The poster was unveiled by Amal Neerad on Instagram. The poster, dominated by a vibrant red tone, generated a lot of buzz on the internet. In the newly-released poster, Kunchacko Boban sports a rugged look, and can be seen dressed in black and holding a gun. Shades of red can be seen in the background, hinting at the extreme nature of the film. The poster has hinted that Kunchacko Boban will be seen in a new and thrilling avatar in this film.

Amal Neerad earlier released a cryptic poster, causing waves of speculation in the audience. The poster features a dramatic blood-red background with a wounded wild pig surrounded by two grey-coloured wolves.

The minimalist design of the poster led many to speculate that it was a teaser for another highly anticipated project, Bilal. The picture in the centre specified the date and time of an announcement: “09.06.24, 12 PM IST, An Amal Neerad film.”

Later, the title of the film was unveiled by the filmmaker as Bougainvillea. Lalo Jose and Amal Neerad wrote the script for the film. The music is composed by Sushin Shyam, the cinematography is done by Anend C Chandram and the editing is by Vivek Harshan. The film is jointly produced by Kunchacko Boban and Jyothirmayi under the banners of Udhaya Pictures and Amal Neerad Productions. It is reportedly based on the book Ruthinte Lokam by Lalo Jose. The book is a psychological crime thriller about the unexplained murders of a young woman named Ruth, who has retrograde amnesia.

The title announcement poster at the bottom right side also features a deadly black dog, which is seen chasing a pig. The film is set to hit the theatres in September.
