Bob Odenkirk Collapses on 'Better Call Saul' Set, Rushed to Hospital
Actor Bob Odenkirk, who is currently shooting for the last season of his hit show Better Call Saul, collapsed on the set and was rushed to the hospital.

Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk was rushed to the hospital after collapsing on the set of the show. The 58-year-old star is currently in production on the final season of Better Call Saul, a spin-off of the wildly popular series Breaking Bad, reports variety.com.

Odenkirk collapsed on Tuesday at the show’s set in New Mexico and crew members immediately called an ambulance. Odenkirk is still receiving medical care. The cause of the collapse has not been disclosed.

A source quoted by TMZ said, “Odenkirk went down, and was immediately surrounded by crew members who called an ambulance.”

His industry colleagues took to social media to share messages hoping for Odenkirk’s speedy recovery. His Breaking Bad co-star Bryan Cranston wrote on Instagram, “Today I woke up to news that has made me anxious all morning. My friend, Bob Odenkirk collapsed last night on the set of Better Call Saul. He is in the hospital in Albuquerque and receiving the medical attention he needs but his condition is not known to the public as yet. Please take a moment in your day today to think about him and send positive thoughts and prayers his way, thank you.”

Lord of the Rings actor Elijah Wood wrote, “Oh man, really hope Bob Odenkirk is ok.”

Michael McKean, who plays his brother, Chuck, in the series, wrote, “Sending huge love to our @mrbobodenkirk. You got this, brother.”

The actor portrays con-man lawyer Saul Goodman in Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad. Better Call Saul zeroes in on the character’s transformation from the criminally-inclined Jimmy McGill to powerful criminal defence lawyer Saul.

Odenkirk’s work on Better Call Saul has got him four Golden Globe nominations for best actor in a television series drama, and four Emmy nominations for outstanding lead actor in a drama series.

Odenkirk is also best known for Mr. Show With Bob and David, the sketch comedy series he co-created with David Cross that originally aired on HBO from 1995 to 1998.

He has won two Emmys, for his writing on The Ben Stiller Show and on Saturday Night Live. He has also appeared on HBO’s The Larry Sanders Show and in the films The Post and Little Women.

The actor recently starred in the action film Nobody, which received generally favourable reviews from critics and debuted at the top of the box office charts.
