The famous daily soap pair – Ankita Lokhande and late Sushant Singh Rajput (Archana and Manav in Pavitra Rishta) dated in real life too. However, the duo parted their ways in 2016. But, Ankita still hung pictures of Sushant in her house.

Revealing the reason behind keeping the pictures up post break up, the actress told Bollywood Bubble that she did not believe in “running away” from the situation. She said that people often urged her to take down his pictures to which she responded that she needed her own time to move on as she was in a long-term relationship with him.

The actress further informed that she let the photos remain in her house to strengthen herself so that she could face Sushant strongly whenever she faces him.

“I need my time. I am not somebody who will run away from the situation. Main 2.5 saal tak unke saath rahi hoon. I have lived my life with those pictures. I was getting up and facing that thing every day so that agar Sushant kabhi mere saamne aaye toh I face him strongly. That was my thought process,” Ankita said.

She said that eventually, the day came when she realised that now she has come to terms with the break up and needs to remove the pictures and she removed them. She took this decision only when she felt that now she can allow someone else to come and take that space in her life. Later, the actress met Vicky Jain and is now happy in a relationship with him.

Ankita and Sushant’s love story started while they were shooting for Pavitra Rishta and had dated each other for six years. During the interview, Ankita also revealed that she had suicidal thoughts after the break-up and it was very difficult for her to move on but her family supported her and she came out very strongly.

The actress even informed that she gave up three big-budgeted films namely Happy New Year, Bajirao Mastani and Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela for Sushant as she was trying to build a man and prioritised her relationship over career.

However, Ankita later made her Bollywood debut in 2019 in a supporting role in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi alongside Kangana Ranaut. She was also seen in Baaghi 3 along with Tiger Shroff, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh.
