Angelina Jolie is currently navigating a complex and highly publicised conflict with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt. In a recent interview, she hinted at plans to move away from Los Angeles once her ongoing divorce is finalised and her children are grown-ups. Jolie expressed a strong desire to explore the world and reconnect with her extended family. When asked if she planned to stay in Los Angeles after her children reached adulthood, she responded, “I grew up in this town. I am here because I have to be here from a divorce, but as soon as they’re 18, I’ll be able to leave.”
“When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety. I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be … that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here,” she said during her conversation with The Hollywood Reporter.
She further elaborated on her plans, saying, “After Los Angeles, I’ll spend a lot of time in Cambodia. I’ll spend time visiting my family members wherever they may be in the world.”
However, when questioned about the current status of her divorce from Pitt, Jolie declined to provide any details.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who share six children – Maddox (23), Pax (21), Zahara (20), Shiloh (18) and twins Knox and Vivienne (16), have been embroiled in a contentious split since announcing their separation in 2016. The legal proceedings, which have now stretched over eight years, have become increasingly complicated. A significant point of contention between the two remains their expensive French winery. The former couple has gone to great lengths to avoid each other at major events, ensuring that their paths rarely cross.
Recently, Jolie made an appearance at the Venice Film Festival for her upcoming film Maria. The film received an eight-minute standing ovation, leaving Jolie visibly emotional. Maria explores the last chapter of opera singer Maria Callas’ life in 1977, a time marked by her battles with substance abuse, a failing voice and severe weight loss. These challenges plagued Callas as she lived in Paris, resulting in her untimely death at the age of 53 from a heart attack, informs The Hollywood Reporter.
Jolie’s performance shows the struggles of a woman who, despite reaching the heights of her art, faced significant personal issues in her final years.
