After Darshan Thoogudeepa, His 'Friend' Pavithra Gowda ARRESTED In Renuka Swamy Murder Case

Kannada actress Pavithra Gowda has been arrested by the Bengaluru police in connection to the Renuka Swamy murder case. This comes hours after the police officials also detained Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa in Mysore in connection to the same case.

What Is Renuka Swamy Murder Case? 

Renuka Swamy was found dead at Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru on June 8, 2024. He used to reportedly work at an Apollo Pharmacy branch in Chitradurga. According to police officials, Renuka used to send vulgar messages to Pavithra Gowad, a friend of Darshan. Angry about this, Renuka Swamy was murdered and his dead body was allegedly thrown in a canal at Kamaksshipalya, Bengaluru in front of Darshan.

Eight of the accused have implicated Darshan, claiming his presence during Renuka Swamy’s assault. A wooden log was reportedly used to fatally injure the victim. The perpetrators intended to dispose of the body in the Vrushabhavati valley, but it was discovered stuck and being tampered with by dogs. A case of an unidentified body was initially filed on June 8.

Earlier today, Darshan was apprehended from his farmhouse in Mysore and is now being brought to the Kamakshipalya police station in Bengaluru for further investigation. Renuka Swamy’s family is also en route to the police station.

How Is Darshan Related To Pavithra?

Darshan Thoogudeepa is married to Vijayalakshmi. The two tied the knot in 2003 and have a son named Vineesh. However, in January this year, Pavithra left everyone shocked when she shared a video on social media in which she hinted at their relationship. “One decade down; forever to go.♥️♥️ #10year It’s been 10years of our relationship. Thank you ✨✨,” she wrote.

As reported by the Economic Times, Pavithra once claimed that even Darshan’s wife Vijayalakshmi is aware of their relationship. “Vijayalakshmi knows about my relationship with Darshan and she has told me several times that it is okay. Now, people are abusing me and my teenage daughter, which is causing me mental pain,” she had said.
