Rajinikanth is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated crime action-thriller Vettaiyan. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the superstar reunites with his Andha Kanoon co-star Amitabh Bachchan. Vettaiyan will hit the theatres on October 10.
The excitement is high and fans are eagerly waiting for the film. The pre-booking for the film has also started. The pre-booking is available in most of the cities and the tickets are selling very fast. One of the theatres in Chennai, AGS Cinemas T Nagar, is fully pre-booked on Thursday. It is said that the film will set a record in pre-booking.

The expectations are quite high even in Kerala. Pre-sales for the action film starring Rajinikanth in Kerala have reportedly brought in about Rs 50 lakh, according to reports by the Twitter page named Friday Matinee. It also said that almost 26,000 tickets are sold currently in the state.
Earlier, the trailer from the film was also released, setting expectations high among the audience. It features both the megastars in an epic face-off. The trailer begins with the police investigating the murder and rape of a woman. Rajinikanth is portrayed as a brutal criminal who targets women. The trailer also introduces Fahadh Faasil and Rana Daggubati’s characters.
Vettaiyan has received a U/A Certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), which means it is unrestricted to the public but requires parental guidance for children under 12 years.
Backed by Lyca Productions, the film will feature the two big megastars of Indian cinema—Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan. It marks the on-screen collaboration of the stars after 32 long years. The duo shared screen space in several films like Hum, Andhaa Kanoon and Geraftaar. It marks Amitabh’s Telugu debut and Rajinikanth’s 170th film.
Vettaiyan will also star Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, Ritika Singh, Anirudh Ravichander, Rao Ramesh and others. It is made on a budget of Rs 160 crore. The cinematography of the film is done by SR Kathir while edited by Philomin Raj. The film will be released on October 10 on the occasion of Dussehra.
