Four big name YouTube stars are endorsing food enthusiasm app Dysh, with kitchen adventurers Hannah Hart and Mamrie Hart plus lifestyle vloggesr Grace Helbig and Ingrid Nilsen all finding different reasons to back it.
"Sometimes I feel a little ridiculous uploading my 8th picture of pho to Instagram," said Mamrie Hart of You Deserve a Drink, calling Dysh "a guilt-free and gluttonous place to post food pictures" while emphasizing its appeal as a social media app built especially for foodies.
Hannah Hart (My Drunk Kitchen) called it "the perfect tool to merge my passion for apps and appetizers," Ingrid Nilsen identified Dysh as a restaurant discovery app -
- "I love trying new food and hearing what other people recommend" -- and Grace Helbig called it "a safe place for food photography and information."
Hart, Hart, Helbig and Nilsen, who have equity stakes in Dysh, were all involved in the app's development.
Dysh (dyshapp.com) praised the four YouTubers' "social media savviness" in a statement -- they have upwards of 20 million subscribers between them -- with Dysh founder and CEO Ashley King highlighting another aspect of their suitability: "They trust each other's tastes and have fun sharing their culinary lives with one another," she said.
Though focused upon distinct menu items, as a gastronomic discovery app it occupies a similar space to Foodspotting, Yelp, and Foursquare.
