Cannes 2022: Look Back at Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Iconic Red Carpet Looks
From unconventional makeup to dreamy silhouettes, the actress will always be a red-carpet favourite

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is an epitome of poise and grace. Ever year, the star has felt her fans in awe each time she steps on the red carpet. From ballroom gowns, gold ensembles to long trains and quirky lips, Aishwarya’s looks over the years are talked about even today.

In 2013, when Aishwarya walked the red carpet she received a lot of flak for her appearance. Aishwarya, who was a new mom back then, was criticised for her red carpet looks. But that didn’t stop the diva from slaying it on the red carpet with her confidence and personality. She proved that fashion comes and goes, but style remains eternal.

This year, as she is all geared up to attend the 75th annual Cannes Film Festival, we can’t help but look back at some of her iconic styles and silhouettes the actress blessed the red carpet with.

The Gold Diva

Cannes 2014: A golden year for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the actor stunned the world when she graced the red carpet flaunting her curves. Looking like a goddess, Aishwarya picked a gold Roberto Cavalli gown embellished with matching thread work. The former Miss World slayed the corset and fishtail  silhouette like a boss.

Purple Haze

Cannes 2016: The bright lavender lips flaunted by Aishwarya was the talk of the town and is still remembered as one of her bold looks. Dressed in a Rami Kadi floral ensemble, Aishwarya’s bold lip colour took away all the attention. The actress carried it off with confidence and paved a path for unconventional lip colour choices for the red carpet looks.

The Ice Princess

Cannes 2017: Aishwarya walked the red carpet in 2017 wearing Michael Cinco. This time, she chose a powder blue ballroom gown. Looking like a true-blue princess the white thread work on the ensemble gave an illusion of snowflakes on a cold winter morning. Looking gorgeous she owned the red carpet with her presence and the larger-than-life silhouette.

The Butterfly Effect

Cannes 2018: The butterfly couture gown designed by Michael Cinco took 3000 hours to make. Aishwarya looked ethereal in the silhouette which was paired with a 20-foot train. The colour palette comprising ultraviolet, red and midnight blue was creatively placed in this masterpiece.

Feather Touch

Cannes 2019: Aishwarya made heads turns in a tulle gown embellished with feathers on the red carpet. The Ashi Studio asymmetrical ensemble came in layers and the feathers added drama to her overall look.
