AIFW 2017: Sneak Peeks of Tarun Tahiliani, Amit Aggarwal's Finale Show
Here's quick sneak peek into Tarun Tahiliani and Amit Aggarwal's collection.

Ace designers Tarun Tahiliani and Amit Aggarwal are collaborating to showcase the grand finale of the ongoing Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2017. While Amit is bringing to ramp his first ever sustainable collection, Tarun is weaving a Bohemian rhapsody of sorts for the 'Fresh New Look' campaign.

Inspired by the nomadic beauty of Indian tribes and Mughal armory-inspired art, Tarun’s collection combines sensuous occasion-wear with dramatic flairs. In an interaction with News18.com, Tarun reveals that his “ready-to-wear line is an extravagant visual tour-de- force.”

The couturier says that his collection, “artfully divided into categories, showcases different forms of workmanship.”

“Take for instance, the Polka range of garments with incredible polka patterns made using Ajrakh or Kasuti collection, which is a kaleidoscope of geometric and organic patterns which takes inspiration from Bidri art. The Renaissance Stripes collection is a vibrantly edgy range printed with trompe stripes inspired by miniatures, etchings, carvings and manuscript margins from the period.”

Amit, on the other hand, has decided to combine the ever-changing curves of earth’s topography and the metallic strength of the man-built structures with his AW’17 collection.

The designer has made use of pre-owned Patola and Benaras brocades as an attempt to create an amalgamation of “rich heritage crafts with the eclectic present.”

“I have been fascinated by these traditional techniques & textiles and wanted to utilise those in a not so obvious way,” he told News18.com.
