BTS’s Suga recently got into a dramatic controversy following his involvement in a drink-and-driving case. While the case remains under investigation, considering the K-pop rapper’s confession, this has also affected his fanbase and supporters from diverse areas. Many have extended their support for Suga; however, a section of people are demanding his removal from the group itself. In one such example, a wreath protest was witnessed in front of the HYBE building in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
In pictures going viral on the Internet, protestors brought in wreaths and voiced their demand for Suga’s withdrawal from BTS. Besides, several messages were also displayed that read, “Min Yoongi, leave the team,” “You were the one who let go of our hands,” and “Before standing in the photo line.”

Speaking to Allkpop, an anonymous fan who was behind the protest said, “This is not a coordinated action by the entire fandom, as these wreaths were sent by individuals. We held this protest because no action was taken after HYBE, Big Hit Music, and Suga released false statements.”
Meanwhile, as the focus of the investigation into the drunk driving case, speculations also made the rounds about Suga’s possible departure from the group. According to Koreaboo, discussions about his withdrawal are currently “not on the table,” considering his strong relationship and contribution to the group.
Developments In Suga Case
Earlier this month, Suga was arrested for driving an electric scooter in an intoxicated state in the Yongsan district of Seoul. In the aftermath, both the rapper and the BTS agency, BigHit Music, issued apologies to fans via social media. Suga, who is currently serving in the military, acknowledged his mistake.
He is soon expected to be summoned by the police for questioning in the matter. According to local media, Yongsan Police Station officials have confirmed that the electric scooter used by the BTS member does not qualify as a personal mobility vehicle, for which he could face potential criminal charges similar to those for driving a car under alcohol influence.
