'Tu, Main Aur Corruption': In Bengal, PM Modi Coins New Full Form of Mamata's TMC

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that TMC means “tu, main aur corruption” (you, me and corruption). “Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress did not listen to women of Sandeshkhali. Criminals in Bengal (attacking TMC over Shahjahan Sheikh’s arrest) decide when they have to surrender,” the PM said.

‘TMC Using Women of Bengal as Vote Bank’

While addressing a public rally in Krishnanagar in Nadia district, PM Modi accused TMC of using the women of Bengal as a “vote-bank”.

“Using the slogan of ‘Maa, Maati, Manush’, the TMC govt used the women of Bengal as a vote-bank. Today, Maa, Maati as well as Maanush, all are displeased by the TMC mode of governance. Women of Sandeshkhali kept asking for justice, yet the govt did not hear them. In Bengal, the police do not decide when a criminal must be arrested, it’s the criminal who decides everything for himself. The state govt did not want the accused in the Sandeshkhali incident to be arrested…” the prime minister said.

‘TMC Does Not Allow Poor to Take Benefit of Centre’s Medical Assistance Initiative’

The Prime Minister also mentioned how the TMC does not allow the people of Bengal to benefit from the Central government’s initiative of providing medical assistance worth Rs 5 Lakh to the poor.

“The Central govt gives medical assistance worth Rs 5 Lakh to the poor, but the TMC govt does not allow the people of Bengal to benefit from this Central initiative. We put in efforts to improve the medical condition of West Bengal. Before 2014, Bengal only had 14 govt Medical colleges. In the past 10 years, the number has almost doubled to 26…” he said.

‘Goons and Land Mafias Given Open Permission…’

PM Modi also pointed out that the TMC has a problem with the construction of Kalyani AIIMS. “They are asking why was the permission not taken” but “TMC’s goons and land mafias have been given open permission for hooliganism”, he added.

“AIIMS was inaugurated by me via video conferencing in Kalyani of Nadia district a few days ago, but the West Bengal government has a problem with the construction of Kalyani AIIMS, they are asking why was the permission not taken? In West Bengal, TMC’s goons and land mafias have been given open permission for hooliganism but the TMC govt is creating hurdles in environment-related permissions…”

 ‘NDA Sarkar, 400 Paar’

PM Modi set a target for the state BJP to win all the 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal saying, “Seeing you all gathered here in such huge numbers is giving me the confidence to say ‘NDA sarkar, 400 paar’.”

“The TMC is synonymous with atrocities, dynasty politics and betrayal. People of West Bengal are disappointed by the way the state government is functioning,” he added.
