HYDERABAD: Justice B Chandra Kumar of the High Court dismissed the writ petitions filed by white ration card holders seeking stay on investigation by the ACB into the liquor scam involving them, saying that the court cannot interfere in the investigation.Several persons from Guntur, Krishna and East Godavari districts, holding white ration cards, filed the petitions challenging the ACB showing them as accused along with some officers of the excise department, and sought quashing of the FIR registered against them. The ACB filed a detailed counter affidavit bringing to the court’s notice that a division bench headed by the chief justice was monitoring the probe into the liquor scam. Details of how the government land was shown as security and how records were manipulated in connivance with officers and staff of the excise department was explained to the judge. The judge then dismissed the batch of petitions by declaring that the court cannot interfere in the probe.
