Thiruvananthapuram: Kerela Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has assured an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation into whistleblower V Saseendran's mysterious death. The Kerala High Court has already sent a notice to the state government on his wife Teena and his father Velayudhan Master's petition seeking an investigation by the CBI.
"My husband faced several threats for telling the truth till his life was taken," said Teena after moving the High Court. They also alleged that police had threatened them to give a statement that Saseendran had committed suicide which they had refused.
Saseendran, former company secretary of the state-owned Malabar Cements in Kerala, was a key witness in four vigilance cases against the company. The 46-year-old was found hanging along with his two sons - Vivek (10) and Vyas (8) - at his home in Palakkad on January 24. Postmortem report showed eight bruises on Saseendran's body.
While he was the company secretary with Malabar Cements, Saseendran had written to the Kerala Chief Minister about rampant corruption in the company only to withdrew the allegations and quit the job in a month.
