Far away from the raging debate over demonetisation, two tall political leaders of Bihar are engaged in a Twitter spat over the plight of Indian Railways.
It all started with a tweet by a former Bihar chief minister and Railways Minister Lalu Prasad alleging that Railways is rapidly slipping into a "financial morass" and "debt trap".
Indian Railways is rapidly slipping into a financial morass and terminal debt trap. To avert the impending tragedy, it time to think anew— Lalu Prasad Yadav (@laluprasadrjd) November 18, 2016
Responding to the tweet, BJP leader and former Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi accused Lalu Prasad of "milking" the Railways, and then took his attack further by saying that PM Narendra Modi knew better than him because he served tea with milk on platform.
@laluprasadrjd milked railways like cow but Modiji know Rlys better than you bcose he served tea with milk on platform.— Sushil Kumar Modi (@SushilModi) November 18, 2016
Lalu shot back saying the logic was rubbish and that the Railways, much like what happens with a cow, has fallen sick because nobody was "milking" it.
@SushilModi What a rubbish logic! Do u kw wat happens when u don't milk a Cow?..cow falls sick..& this is wat happening now..समझे की नही— Lalu Prasad Yadav (@laluprasadrjd) November 18, 2016
At this Sushil Kumar Modi opened a new flank - Lalu's foe-turned-ally Nitish Kumar who handled the portfolio before it came to the RJD boss.
@laluprasadrjd Are you blaming Nitish Kumar for the so called mess of Rlys bcose you inherited from him?— Sushil Kumar Modi (@SushilModi) November 18, 2016
Lalu declined the gambit, and continued attacking along the same line. This time he latched on to the BJP leader's teaseller analogy
@SushilModi U mean if smbdy selling tea at plateform is a railway expert & can turn railway in profit then ask PM to appoint all 1/2— Lalu Prasad Yadav (@laluprasadrjd) November 18, 2016
@SushilModi tea sellers as advisors to railways & gv all tea sellers across India class1 officers facilities,so tht railway gets into profit— Lalu Prasad Yadav (@laluprasadrjd) November 18, 2016
At the time of writing this, many on Twitter was watching @SushilModi for an effective counter.
