Sao Paulo: Mark Webber of Red Bull was fastest on a wet track in the final practice before qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix on Saturday.
Webber, who is leaving Formula One after Sunday's race, had a lap of 1 minute, 27.891 seconds at Interlagos, ahead of Lotus drivers Roman Grosjean and Heikki Kovalainen.
Sebastian Vettel, who already clinched his fourth straight F1 title, didn't post a fast lap and finished 17th. The German driver enters the season-ending race trying to equal Michael Schumacher's 13 victories in a year and match the record of nine consecutive wins by Alberto Ascari.
Mercedes' Nico Rosberg, who led both practice sessions on Friday, was among the drivers who didn't post a time to try to save tires, along with Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button and Felipe Massa.
