HYDERABAD: It was a vision for a better India in 2020 which had the students at BITS Hyderabad campus excited on Wednesday. On his visit to the institute, former president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam enthused the students with his vision for the country and exhorted them to work for the goal.“Every person who is in pursuit of a goal will face problems and it is important to captain and defeat these problems,” said the former president. Identifying five thrust areas, agriculture, education, health, communication and infrastructure, the scientist shared his dream of development and advancement aided by growth in science and technology.Though development was necessary, it should be sustainable which will require a marriage of a plethora of sciences and technology. He pointed out that the amalgamation of different branches of sciences and technology would be possible only if the curtain separating teachers, students and researchers falls off, leading to unrestrained communication and cooperation. Kalam made the students and faculty take an oath to work towards the betterment of India
