Private Security officers of Union Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma on Friday allegedly beat up security guards at a housing society in Ghaziabad for stopping his car.
The incident, caught on CCTV cameras at the Ashiana Green housing society, showed a scuffle between the security personnel and the security guards after the car was stopped.
Minister Sharma said he was not in the car when this happened and that he apologised to the security guard and the president of the housing society.
"I apologized at the outset and the matter was closed, but people are trying to politicise it now," he said.
The minister also said that the man who scuffled with the guards was his private security officer and that he would let the police take action against him. "I too will take action against the security personnel accused,"he added.
The president of resident welfare association has filed a police complaint and investigation is underway.
