UCWeb reaches global user base of 400 million users
UCWeb offers independent app developers to leverage its platform at the AppFest 2012.

Hyderabad: UCWeb, the leading mobile internet company today announced that its global user base has now reached 400 million. In less than a year, UC Browser has gained 100 million new users. UC Browser which already was the largest mobile browser in the world in terms of user base has been on a terrific run this year and the latest Statcounter rankings point out that it is closing in on the top mobile browser position in India with a market share of over 25% in the India market.

The growth in market share in India is followed by UCWeb's excellent performance in China, its domestic market, where it has achieved 50 percent market share. It also has more than 10 percent market share in four other countries. Adding yet another milestone to its kitty, UCWeb passed a landmark of 100 million global Android users last month as it continued to expand globally.

AppFest 2012 is being organised by Internet And Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) in Hyderabad. Extending its support towards the development of mobile internet ecosystem UCWeb joined hands with IAMAI and encouraged the app developers to make optimum use of its mobile internet platform. "UCWeb is committed to the Indian market, and we'd like to grow together with local mobile developers. We hope that by partnering with local developers here in India and leveraging our global R&D resources, we can bring localized products and a better user experience to our Indian users as well as serve our 400 million global users," said Kenny Ye, UCWeb's India Managing Director. Ye spoke at the conference on how UCWeb has built a strong ecosystem by embracing open standards, redefining the browser as a service platform, and enabling more than 5,000 partners worldwide to tap its huge user base in making the ecosystem more vibrant.
