UAE continues to help Libyan-Egyptian refugees
It aims to facilitate the repatriation of displaced people as part of international humanitarian efforts.

Dubai: The UAE's relief team continues to offer relief medical and food material to over 35,000 refugees stranded on the Libyan-Egyptian border, following bloody clashes in Libya.

A delegation led by advisor Ibrahim Bumalha and Saleh Zaher, director of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment are on the Libyan-Egyptian border to supervise the emergency operation.

It aims to facilitate the repatriation of displaced people as part of international humanitarian efforts.

In the first stage of the operation, 330 tonnes of basic food material were distributed to the refugees of different nationalities.

In the second stage,it urgently procured foodstuff from the Egyptian markets, according to Bumalha.

The establishment have distributed 35,000 food packages as well as bottled water to thousands of African and Asian refugees in Al-Salloum on the borders for over a week.

Eight ambulance vehicles have also been provided to hospitals in Benghazi, Ajdabiya and to Tunisian Red Crescent.
