THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In two separate cases, the Thampanoor Police arrested two suspected thieves. The accused have been identified as Devarajan, 50, of Kulasekharam in Tamil Nadu and Prabhakumar alias Pappunni, 35, of Vithura.The police said that Devarajan was arrested while trying to board a train to Tamil Nadu from the Central Railway Station here after looting the BSNL office on Tuesday morning.The goods he looted from the office too were recovered by the police.His modus operandi was to reach the city in the night trains, commit the burglary and return home in the morning. He was suspected to be a member of an inter-state gang of thieves. Meanwhile, Prabhakumar was arrested while trying to commit theft in a house at Thycaud. Several criminal cases were registered in his name at various police stations in the district, including Thampanoor, Palode, Vithura and Neyyar Dam.Both the arrests were made by a team of police led by Circle Inspector Sheen Tharayil and Sub-Inspector R Sivakumar, under the directive of Fort Assistant Commissioner M Radhakrishnan. The accused were produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
