ANANTAGIRI (RANGAREDDY): Setting at rest the speculation that TRS will merge with the Congress or any other party, its chief K Chandrasekhar Rao has said the party would continue its political journey on its own and secure Telangana state one day. Speaking at the 11th anniversary of the party foundation day here on Friday, he said: “After formation of Telangana state, which is a certainty, focus would be on reconstruction of the new state for ensuring all-round development. He called upon the party cadres not to rest but continue the movement. “In our journey there is no interval. We have to continue our journey. We have done so for the last 11 years. We should be prepared for another 11 years if necessary,” he said. The TRS celebrated the 11th anniversary at Anantagriri hills here, a well known tourist spot in Rangareddy district which is just a stone’s throw from Vikarabad.TRS delegates from all the 119 Assembly segments in Telangana region attended the meeting which was a low key affair. The TRS chief was angry with a section of media for publishing stories on possible merger of the TRS with the Congress. “This is being done to prevent the growth of the party and confuse people on the direction it was going. The TRS would continue and it would not merge with any other party,” he said. The TRS leader advised the Telangana Congress MPs to leave the party as it has now become more or less clear that the Congress was not willing to deliver Telangana state.“I invite them to leave the Congress and take a plunge in the Telangana movement. The UPA has insulted the four crore people of Telangana region by suspending their own party MPs from the region while they were pressing for bifurcation of the state. The writing on the wall is clear and yet the MPs are clinging to the party. I fail to see reason,” he said. The TRS leader was very uncharitable while referring to the BJP. He called it yet another beggar wandering in Telangana region.
