The 66th Aalmi Tablighi Ijtema, an international Islamic congregation, on Monday ended at Eitkheri with a mass prayer for the well-being of the community and peace and prosperity of the country and harmony across the globe.
About eleven lakh Muslims from India and abroad attended the grand 'Dua' prayer delivered by Hazrat Maulana Zubair-ul-Hasan (Hazrat ji) of Nizamuddin Markaz, New Delhi, organisers said. Maulana Zubair-ul-Hasan said in his sermon that life and practices of Hazrat Mohammad showed that Islam emphasises good relations with all.
During the three-day event, renowned Islamic scholars including Maulana Zubair-ul-Hasan, Maulana Ahmad Laat, Maulana Saad-ul-Hasan, Maulana Mustaqeem, Maulana Ismail, Maulana Chiraghuddin, Maulana Ali Qadar, Maulana Shaukat Ali delivered sermons on the life and practises of Prophet Mohammad and Islamic Shariah (law), Ijtema Committee spokesman Atique-ul-Islam said.
About 500 marriages (nikah) were also solemnised by Hazrat Maulana Zubair-ul-Hasan on the second day of Ijtema. Delegates from Russia, England, US, Malaysia, Indonesia, Kirghistan, France, Morocco, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Iran, South Africa and other countries attended the annual event.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had visited the venue on Saturday, Atique said.
