Three murders in Kancheepuram district in a day

KANCHEEPURAM: The Kancheepuram district witnessed three murders committed at three different places from the midnight of Friday.In the first instance, a history-sheeter since 2005 was found murdered with sharp hack wounds on the chin, hands and neck at Orikkai here. The deceased, Charles, 31, was wanted in a murder committed at Neelamangalam on the outskirts of Bangalore, said DSP K Rajendhran.There were over a dozen cases against Charles, and the murder must have been the fallout of previous enmity. Three teams have been formed to nab the culprits, said Rajendhran.In the second incident, a 42-year-old woman was found murdered in a deserted wooded area in Cheyyur, some 75-kms from here. SP S Manoharan who visited the scene of crime said, the murder did not seem to have been committed for economic gain, but could have been the resultant of enmity.In the third incident, a charred body was found in the middle of a cremation ground in Thenampakkam village that falls between Chengalpattu and Madurantakam. The killers must have taken the body to the cremation grounds to make it appear as though it was a natural death, police said.The face of the male body was charred beyond recognition, but the tailor tag on the shirt pointed to Thiyagaduruvam, a hamlet in Villupuram district. The Villupuram police have taken up further investigations.
