The deaths were reported from the remote Doval village under Borikina panchayat of Balikuda, in the last two days.
The deceased have been identified as Ankita Barik (4), Kailash Barik (43) and Nari Sethi (65). While 75 villagers complained of diarrhoea symptoms, the condition of 10 is stated to be critical. They have been admitted to Borikina, Balikuda and Jagatsinghpur hospitals.
He said the situation had worsened in Borikina and other panchayats since the PHC was without a doctor. The posted homeopathic doctor had failed to tackle the situation leading to the casualties, he added.
