New Delhi: After continuing investigations into Princess Diana’s death, for the first time ever her reclusive former love Dr Hasnat Khan has spoken publicly.
Emerging from a London court after making sensational revelations about his former employer, Paul Burrell claimed the princess of Wales was in love with a British Pakistani heart surgeon, who was her soul mate. He also said that Princess Diana had even made inquiries with a Catholic priest to marry Dr Hasnat Khan.
Talking about Diana, Dr Hasnat Khan says, “She was a normal person with great qualities. Like all of us, even she had some personal drawbacks like we have. However, I think she did great work for the country and for people all over the world"
Khan admitted that Diana had come visiting his home in Pakistan and even met his family. He adds that her mother's disapproval of Muslim boyfriends did not matter.
"She enjoyed her time here. She really liked the day she spent here I think. I think it was a special moment for all us and definitely for my family. I think she enjoyed the after dinner tea with them,” says Hasnat Khan.
Diana's former butler insisted at the inquest it was impossible that she and then boyfriend Dodi al Fayed could have been murdered on the orders of the Royal Family. Khan has not participated in that inquest, however he hopes it will bring closure for everyone involved.
"I hope it settles all the questions which have been asked and for me I think it is important that this is the end of it and people can move on,” adds he.
