In UP's Sonbhadra, Govt Launches Free Coaching For Competitive Exams
The initiative is especially aimed at helping underprivileged students prepare for prestigious exams like UPSC, PCS, and other government job-related tests.

In a bid to provide equal educational opportunities, students from poor families in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh, will soon have access to free coaching for competitive exams. This initiative is especially aimed at helping them prepare for prestigious exams like UPSC, PCS, and other government job-related tests. Many students across India struggle to afford the high fees associated with coaching classes for these exams, and this programme seeks to bridge that gap by offering free, quality education to underprivileged students in the region.

The initiative is being spearheaded by the Social Welfare Department under the Abhyudaya Coaching programme. This programme is known for offering free coaching to selected candidates who aim to crack some of the toughest competitive exams in the country. Through this programme, the government hopes to provide a level playing field for students who would otherwise not be able to afford such guidance.

Initially, the department had tied up with the Resonance Institute in Obra to conduct the coaching. However, due to the institute’s negligence and lack of interest, the quality of coaching suffered, which led to disruptions in the students’ studies. The candidates, frustrated with the situation, lodged complaints at the Collectorate office. Following their grievance, the students met with the Chief Development Officer (CDO), informing him of the halt in classes and demanding immediate action. Responding to their complaints, the authorities quickly intervened, cancelling the contract with the Resonance Institute.

With the termination of the previous contract, the selection of new teachers is now underway. The department has initiated a fresh hiring process, including interviews to find qualified educators capable of providing high-quality coaching. Interviews are being conducted for the selection of teachers and so far 11 candidates have participated in it. The interviewing panel has submitted its evaluation report to the higher authorities.

The District Social Welfare Officer said that teachers are being selected to start the coaching. After this, the related studies will start soon. It was informed that as per the instructions of the government, free preparation for competitive exams is done through this coaching in Sonbhadra, the most backward district of the state. For this, students have to come to the Social Welfare Office and complete the application process.
