Srinagar: Terrorists barged into the house of the superintendent of Baramulla Jail but failing to find him, they abducted his son and a relative. They were released later.
They also took his car which was found burnt later.
This comes on the heels of terrorists issuing policemen and civil servants against working in the Valley.
The terrorists told the jailer’s family that Bhat acted without any leniency in the jail and that they had come to kill him, sources said.
However, on finding that he was not home at the time, the terrorists, they took his son Ashiq and relative Bilal in the family’s car.
They were later let off at Doulatpora in Chadoora town in the district. They then left the car in the middle of the road burning, source said, adding that they then fired few rounds in air before escaping.
