CHENNAI: The Hitech Diagnostic Centre, a firm offering diagnostic services, in association with Hain Life Sciences, Germany, on Friday launched a high-tech tuberculosis detector device.Christened Twincubator, the gadget can detect the presence of the disease within 7-8 hours. Launching the product, senior physician and professor of medicine Dr K V Thiruvengadam hailed it as a magic wand in the hands of a doctor. The high-tech device saves precious time in diagnosis and of course, when the patient is found to be carrying the infectious bacilli, the treatment can be started the same day. Early diagnosis and early therapy are a real boon in checking further outbreak of the disease. Senior surgeons and doctors including Dr K Jagannathan, Dr Rajan Santhosham, Dr B Rajagopalan, Dr D Ranganathan, Dr Anreas Hilleman and Dr Martina Brachold from Germany participated.
