Tamil Nadu Police Clears Isha Foundation in Missing Volunteers Case
The police, while making a submission before the Madras High Court, said that many who went missing had returned after having left the centre due to personal reasons.

The Tamil Nadu Police on Thursday cleared Jaggi Vasudev’s Isha Foundation in the missing persons case saying most of those who went missing have returned. The police, while making a submission before the Madras High Court said that many who went missing from Isha Foundation’s yoga centre Coimbatore district’s Vellingiri had returned after having left the centre due to personal reasons.

The submission was made before a Division Bench of Justices MS Ramesh and Sunder Mohan who were hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by a man, C Thirumalai, whose brother has been missing for a year.

Meanwhile, the Madras High Court also warned that it will dismiss the missing person case if the petitioner, who moved the Court alleging disappearance of his brother, does not appear in court for hearing.

The bench noted that the petitioner in the case was not present in the Court for the day’s hearing.

The court has posted the matter for further consideration on June 7 and made it clear that it would be the last chance for the petitioner to appear.

Thirumalai had moved court after his brother Ganesan, 46, had gone missing from Isha Foundation in March last year. He had told the court that he contacted Isha Foundation after being unable to establish contact with his brother for several days. He said that the Foundation had told him that his brother had not reported for two days.
