BANGALORE: Students of KLE’s Fashion Technology and Apparel Institute organised a fashion show titled ‘Prathibimba’. The concept was based on “The mirror image of young fashion designers creativity”, and was portrayed in the “a la mode” portifolio designer collection by the final year undergraduate students. The carefully crafted ensembles and collections reflect the young designer’s creativity which will be an asset to Indian fashion industry in the near future.The two-day event had more than 20 colleges participating in various competions like fashion illustration, seams to reams, fashion show, accessory sketching, accessory making college, draping, retro dance and logo designing.The a la mode designer collections saw themes ranging from traditional textiles to hip hop which clearly reflected the creativity that the young posess folloowing new trends. Some of the themes were: Enlightment by Ramya, Rubik’s Cubeby Veeresh, Tribute to tradition by Deepathi, Optical Illusion by Jitin, Transwear by Sagar, Roses and Love by Murali And Royal Fantasy by Shravan. The chief guest for the designer collection was Prof S R Puja, director, Sardar Vallabhai Patel International School of Textiles and Management. The guest of honour was Prof Somusundaram, project consultant, Pearl Academy, Chennai. The special invitee was actor Srinagar Kitty, who is an youth icon. He was at the show to encourage the young designers in the making.The judges for the portfolio designer collection were Tanya Pathak, GM-Gokal images, and fashion designers Liza Philip and Rajendra Verma.
