The atmosphere at the multi-purpose hall of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Trimulgherry was one of jubilation and high-spirits. With students dressed in traditional attire volunteering for the occassion and the seats in the hall filled with dignitaries, teachers who were to win awards and their colleagues and family members the hall was abuzz with excitement. The 46th anniversary of establishment of the Kendriya Vidyalaya schools under the Ministry of HRD was being celebrated on Thursday. Along with the anniversary, Regional Incentive Award ceremony was also being celebrated at the venue. D Sambasiva Rao, principal secretary (Secondary Education), Government of Andhra Pradesh was the chief guest for the occassion. The function started off by lighting of lamp and an invocation, a classical group dance dedicated to Lord Ganapathi. It was followed by a welcome dance by students of KV Picket. The welcome address was given by S M Saleem, DC, KVS HR. He said that Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has been following the tradition of regarding and respecting its teachers year after year and that the celebration stood as a testimony to the tradition of saluting our great teachers. He said that from this year he started the tradition of awarding the schools which secure 100% pass result in class 12 board exams to inspire the other schools to vie for the award.The incentive awards were awarded under various categories to nearly 30 people including teachers, principals, non-teaching staff and an officer. When asked Vijay Kumar about him being awarded for working with utmost sicereity in accounting, auditing and administration, he expressed, “This award encourages me to work in the same way for the rest of my working years and I feel happy that KVs recognises hard work.”The award function was followed by presidential address by Dr Vijayalakshmi, JC, KVS (HQ), address by the chief guest and vote of thanks by S. Sambanna, Assistant Commissioner, KVS RO. It was followed by beautiful cultural programmes by students, post which the event was concluded by singing of the National Anthem.
