In an unusual turn of events, a love story in Uttar Pradesh’s Fazilnagar village has taken a dramatic twist, showcasing the lengths some will go for love. A woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, fell deeply in love with a man tasked with collecting loan installments from her. When the man refused to marry her, she resorted to protesting in a dharna while veiled.
According to local sources, the affair began when the woman took a loan from a credit institution and developed feelings for the installment collector. This infatuation led her to divorce her husband and return to her parental home, hoping for a future with the collector. Allegedly, promises of marriage were made, accompanied by claims of significant financial transactions involving large sums of money and gold jewellery.
However, soon the man declined to marry her, citing his family’s disapproval to the union. The woman then took matters into her own hands and staged a protest ‘dharna’ at the man’s residence, demanding fulfillment of the promised marriage. Reports claim that tensions escalated during the protest, with the woman alleging physical assault by the man’s family members before being rescued by her own family.
The woman further accused the man of deceit, claiming he had engaged in a long-term relationship with her under the pretext of marriage, only to retract his commitment when confronted by her demands.
This unfolding saga has captivated the attention of locals, highlighting the complexities of love, promises, and expectations in rural communities.
