State govt to give Rs 2 lakh to heir of victims killed in Uttarakhand floods
The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to provide assistance of Rs two lakh each to the kin of state's pilgrims who lost their lives in Uttarakhand deluge.

The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to provide assistance of Rs two lakh each to the kin of state's pilgrims who lost their lives in Uttarakhand deluge.

The amount will be sanctioned to heir of the dead or missing pilgrims presumed dead, by the concerned collector, an official release said on Wednesday.

In case of missing pilgrim, the process will be started only after an application is moved by his or her nearest heir.

It is necessary to obtain death certificates issued by local police officers authorised by Uttarakhand government or in-charge officer of government hospital there or death certificates issued by revenue officers posted at Madhya Pradesh relief camps at Dehradun or Haridwar, the release said.

Missing pilgrims' heir would get Rs 50,000 each immediately and Rs 1.50 lakh after verification of documents.
