Stalin will campaign in Sankarankoil: Alagiri

MADURAI/CHENNAI: M K Stalin, the treasurer of DMK, would campaign in the Sankarankoil bypoll, said M K Alagiri, South Zone organising secretary of the DMK. Attending a function here on Monday, Alagiri told reporters that a meeting of party activists in Sankarankoil was tentatively fixed for February 28. Stalin would participate in the meet and also campaign in the constituency for the party’s candidate, Alagiri said, adding that he would undertake election work.DMK candidate Jawahar Suriyakumar would file his nomination papers on February 27, Alagiri said. “The inputs coming from Sankarankoil indicate that DMK could win the elections”, he added. The bypoll is slated for March 18. Filing of nominations begins on February 22 and the last date for nomination is February 29. AIADMK, DMK and MDMK have already announced their candidates.
