SSP stresses action against crime

PUDUCHERRY: Senior superintendent of police VJ Chandran urged the union territory’s police to be responsible and follow a code of conduct.While addressing the Puducherry police on the “proper maintenance of law and order,” he asked the cops to abide by the law.He said the police personnel should take timely action against crime and anti-social activities.The SSP said that there are no excuses for not  preventing crime. Cops should take prompt action if a crime occurs in their vincintiy.Chandran also said there was nothing wrong in assisting traffic policemen during peak hours.The SSP has decided to hold another meeting next month and has asked the constables to prepare a list of criminals in their respective areas.
