KOCHI: Mathai Philip, father of Sr Mary Ancy, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Holy Spirit Convent at Poonkulam on August 17, has approached the Kerala High Court seeking a CBI probe into the case.Philip alleged in the petition that the ongoing investigation has neither been effective nor impartial and hence a CBI probe must be conducted into the case. Justice N K Balakrishnan sought the view of the state government in this petition and adjourned the hearing to October 24.The petitioner submitted that the investigation team was making deliberate efforts to establish that Sr Ancy committed suicide and it was not homicide. “Two servants employed in the convent were not questioned yet. No inquiry has been done regarding the presence of a motor car owned by Anotny Rebellow on the convent premises on the day of the incident. The investigation team had threatened the witnesses not to divulge any matter publicly,” Philip said.The investigating officer had earlier submitted before the court that no injury was noted on Sr Mary Ancy’s dead body and that it was a case of drowning. The investigating officer M Radha Krishnan Nair made the submission based on the postmortem report.
