Southern Railway will run the following special trains from Velankanni to Chennai and Vasco-da-Gama to clear the extra rush of passengers during Velankanni festival.
T No 06059/06060
Chennai Egmore – Velankanni – Chennai Egmore Special: T No 06059 will leave Chennai Egmore at 22.45 hrs on August 27 and September 3 and arrive in Velankanni at 06.30 hrs the next day. In the return direction, T No 06060 will leave Velankanni at 23.15 hrs on August 28 and September 4 and reach Chennai at 07.20 hrs the next day. The trains will have 1 AC 3-tier, five sleeper class, six general second class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. They will stop at Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Tiruppadiripuliyur, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Mayiladuthurai, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam. T No 06060 will stop at Mambalam too.
T No 06061/06062
Chennai Egmore – Velankanni – Chennai Egmore Special: T No 06061 will leave Chennai Egmore at 22.45 hrs on August 30 and arrive in Velankanni at 06.30 hrs the next day. In the return direction, T No 06062 will leave Velankanni at 23.15 hrs on August 31 and arrive in Chennai Egmore at 07.20 hrs the next day.The trains will have three AC 2-tier, three AC 3-tier, 12 sleeper class, two general second class and two luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Tiruppadiripuliyur, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Mayiladuthurai, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam. T No 06062 will stop at Mambalam too.

Chennai Egmore – Velankanni – Chennai Egmore Special: T No 06063 will leave Chennai Egmore at 22.45 hrs on September 8 and arrive in Velankanni at 06.30 hrs the next day. T No 06064 will leave Velankanni at 23.15 hrs on September 9 and arrive in Chennai Egmore at 07.20 hrs the next day. The trains will have 1 AC 2-tier, three AC 3-tier, 11 sleeper class, three general second class and two luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Tiruppadiripuliyur, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Mayiladuthurai, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam. T No 06064 will stop at Mambalam as well.

Vasco-da-Gama – Velankanni – Vasco-da-Gama Special: T No 07315 will leave Vasco-da-Gama at 09.00 hrs on August 29 and September 2 and 5 and arrive Velankanni at 12.25 hrs the next day. T No 07316 will leave Velankanni at 14.25 hrs on August 30 and September 3 and 9 and reach Vasco-da-Gama at 19.50 hrs the next day. The trains will have one AC 2-tier, one AC 3-tier, eight sleeper class, six general second class and two luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Madgaon, Kulem, Castle Rock, Londa, Dharwad, Hubli, Haveri, Davangere, Birur, Arsikere, Tumkur, Yeshvantpur, Krishnarajapuram, Bangarpet, Salem, Erode, Karur, Tiruchchirappalli, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam.
